The all-time disaster has been avoided for once as Stoinis’ record 18 ball destruction stuns World Cup.
Marcus Stoinis saved Australia’s bacon with a classic fifty in the T20 World Cup on Tuesday as they beat Sri Lanka by seven wickets to keep their tournament alive.

The Aussies were struggling at sixteenth spot before he came onto bat, blasting through 17 balls and finishing off an amazing 59 not out from 18 deliveries – which is now fastest 50+ score ever recorded for any half format of cricket!

Australia was in desperate need of victory when Glenn Maxwell left the field after 12.2 overs with a stomach bug, leaving Stoinis to steady their ship single-handedly swinging things towards an inevitable win for Australia by 7 wickets with 21 balls remaining.

Finch could not have done much more - he scored 31 runs from 42 deliveries but it wasn't enough as his teammates helped him outmanhandle India's bowling attack while they struggled without one key player: Aaron gigantic gut punch!

Australia’s top order suffered from early boundaries but managed to survive as Glenn Maxwell and Mitch Marsh both helped them score quick runs.

The Aussies were struggling at 1-38 after 7 overs before David Warner got out for 11 in the fifth over - just one run came off his hands all day! Nevertheless, with time running thin on final deliveries of this matchwinning chase we saw some incredible knocks by players like Smith (36) & Rohrer(23).
